Bedford EarthCraft Home

This home is EarthCraft-certified and very energy efficient along with Hardie siding and stone veneer on exterior that provides a great look along with sustainability.


Eco Village Net Zero Home (Jack and Kamala home)

This home was built to Passive house standards and is considered a Net Zero home, meaning it does not use any energy. It has a 3kw Grid Tied Photovoltaic solar system along with thermal solar for domestic hot water. The building envelope is super-insulated, and the house is oriented due south for passive solar energy gains. We used a Serious window with .14 U factor and Therma tru doors. The HVAC system is a Mitisbuishi 26 SEER system with a Zender ERV for fresh air.

Pet Friendly Suites @ Hotel Floyd

These hotel rooms were added for pet use at the Hotel Floyd property, but they were also built to demonstrate super energy efficient building technologies. This building was built to Passive house standards and is considered a Net Zero building, meaning it does not use any energy. Shady Oak Addition

This addition added a large great room and garage / storage space. The siding used is EFIS (Exterior Finish Insulation System) along with stone veneer.


Elon Addition

This 1400sf addition totally transformed this house with by adding two bedrooms, three full bathrooms, and a huge front porch. During construction a handicap accessible bathroom was added and existing bedrooms were modified for better accessibility. A new master bed and bath suite with see-thru fireplace, Jacuzzi tub and custom tile shower with a bay window was also apart of the finished product. A new heat pump system, tankless water heater, electrical system,  low e replacement windows, and insulation were all upgrades added during construction to make this house more efficient. The exterior veneer new vinyl siding and metal will be added to change the look of the house. We plan to post pictures of before and after so you can see the true change of this house.


Elon EarthCraft Project

This 2800sf ranch-style EarthCraft home has four bedrooms, two full bathrooms, two half bathrooms, an unfinished basement, and a two-car garage. Hardwood, tile, and vinyl flooring throughout, cherry cabinets with granite countertops. It has brick, stone, cast stone corners, and vinyl siding for exterior veneer.


Lexington Group Home Addition

Wall Construction, LLC orked with local Wall Residences provider to design and build small community-based group home. The project ended up being a large addition to the existing home, which ensured a low-cost, high-quality building in a good location in the Lexington area. The addition consisted of two floors with 2460sf per floor. The first floor was totally wheelchair accessible with five bedrooms, five bathrooms, kitchen, living and dining rooms.


Oak View House (Grieser Project)

This 1785sf custom home has two bedrooms, two full baths, a two-car garage, sun room, and unfinished basement with plumbing roughed in. This house has custom cabinets with granite counter tops, hardwood and tile flooring throughout. The exterior veneer is stone foundation and vinyl siding.


Possum Island Passive House

Built to Passive House Standards, but not certified. This house is 1665sf with four big bedrooms, two full baths, one half bath, custom cabinets with granite countertops, bamboo hardwood floors, and ceramic tile.


 

Commercial


Dillard Road Office Complex

This building has four office units that are two stories totaling 2400sf each. The exterior veneer is brick and EFIS (Exterior Finish Insulation System). One of these units is rented by Wall Construction, LLC for our home office. Our unit has many green features, one being we do not have a power bill due to the 3kw Photovoltaic Solar Panels and Thermal Solar Hot Water Heater provided by AEC Inc. (Affordable Energy Concepts). We also have reclaimed Heart Pine flooring and doors, Solar Tubes for natural daylighting, recycled glass tile in the bathroom, recycled glass countertops for the kitchenette made by Wall Construction, LLC, and spray foam insulation. This building is truly a green building. Come by anytime and let us show you what green building is! The pictures also show some of the green features.
There is still one unit left if interested in buying or renting.

Floyd Office LEED Silver certified

7200sf LEED Certified Gold Office Building with Geothermal heat pumps, Photovoltaic Solar Panels with battery backup to provide constant electricity even when the grid is down, thermal solar panel system for hot water heating, FSC Framing Material, recycled and renewable material throughout. A rain Water cistern feeds all toilets and gray water needs such as irrigation. The exterior veneer is stone foundation and EFIS (Exterior Finish Insulation System) with a metal roof. During construction, all construction waste was recycled if possible. We recycled over 75% of all construction waste on this project. This building is a very unique building and a “must see.” If interested, call a set up a time to see this building in person. Hotel Floyd

This 7,700sf, 14 unit hotel is one of the first in Virginia to be recognized as a green hotel because of its energy conservation design. It has a geothermal heat pump system controlled by a state-of-the-art Onity Infrared Sensor Thermostat Control System, MZ Boiler water heater with recirculation hot water lines for continuous hot water, the lowest water usage toilets and faucets made on the market. NESS Insulation system with sound board insulation for sound proofing, the exterior veneer is metal roofing with Hardie batten board siding with a timber frame veneer. The exterior and interior doors and trim were specially milled locally for this hotel. The bamboo floors on the first floor and locally made and installed. Hardwoods on the second floor were done by Highland Hardwoods. All paints and finishes had little to no VOC’s. During construction over 50% of the construction waste was recycled.

Floyd Eco Village Community Center

The Floyd Eco Village Community Center is an 11,000sf super-efficient net-zero building that has a 3000sf multi-purpose room with stage, dining room, commercial kitchen, and classrooms. This building was built with 12″ thick ACME SIPS panels and WeatherSheild EnduraClad triple pane windows along with a state-of-the-art mechanical system. There is a 13.5kw PV Solar System and a 3 collector Evacuated tube thermal solar system for all its domestic hot water needs.
